　　1。女孩向父亲抱怨生活的不易，说自己有些不知所措，甚至想放弃。生活中的问题接踵而来，令人灰心。

　　2。女孩的父亲是位厨师。他将女儿带入厨房，在三口锅中分别加入水，放在炉火上加热。

　　水开了之后，他在第一口锅里放入一些胡萝卜，第二口锅里放入几个鸡蛋，第三口锅里放入咖啡。父亲一言不发，静静等待着。

　　3。女孩不知所以，心中困惑，但也只有站在旁边一言不发，不耐烦地等待着。大约20分钟之后，父亲关掉炉火，先把胡萝卜取出放入碗中，继而将鸡蛋取出，同样置于碗中，最后将煮好的咖啡倒入杯中。

　　4。此时父亲转向女儿问道：“我的乖女儿，你看到了什么？”女儿不解的答道：“胡萝卜，鸡蛋和咖啡。”

　　5。父亲让女儿闭上眼睛去触摸那些胡萝卜。女儿照做了，感觉到胡萝卜是软的。然后父亲叫女儿把鸡蛋打破剥皮，剥皮之后，女儿摸了摸煮熟的鸡蛋，是硬的。最后父亲让女儿闻咖啡，女儿疑惑的问道：“爸爸，这是什么意思？”父亲解释道：“胡萝卜，鸡蛋和咖啡都经历了沸水的考验，但是它们的反应却不同。本来较硬的胡萝卜在沸水中变得软弱无力，外面只有一层薄薄的蛋壳，不堪一击的鸡蛋，在煮过之后却变得硬起来，咖啡比较特别，它竟可以将水改变！”

　　6。父亲接着问道：“你又是怎样的呢？当厄运来临，你会作何反应？你会是胡萝卜，鸡蛋，还是咖啡呢？”

　　10。“please…trytofindhappiness，whilelivingoutyourdays。iknowitisnoteasy，butihopeyoufindsomeways。theroseswilleeveryyear，andtheywillonlystopwhenyourdoor’snotanswered，whenthefloriststopstoknock。

　　11。“hewillefivetimesthatday，incaseyouhavegoneout。butafterhislastvisit，hewillknowwithoutadoubt。totaketherosestotheplace，wherei’veinstructedhim，andplacetherosewhereweare，togetheronceagain。”

　　1。红玫瑰花是她的最爱，她的名字也叫rose。每年她的丈夫都要送她打了可爱蝴蝶结的红玫瑰。他去世的那年，玫瑰花送到了她的门口，卡片上写着：“我的情人节礼物”，跟往年一样。

　　2。每年他为她送红玫瑰，卡片上总这样说：“我今年更爱你，比去年的今天更爱。”“随着逝去的岁月，我对你的爱一直在增长。”她知道这将是最后一次收到玫瑰花。她想，他是提前订了玫瑰花。她亲爱的丈夫不知道，他将走了。他总喜欢把事情做在前头，这样，如果他很忙的话，每件事都照样做得妥妥当当。她整理好花茎，把它们插进一个特别的花瓶，然后，将花瓶放在他满脸笑容的像片旁，她会在她丈夫喜欢的椅子上坐上好几个小时，看着他的相片，玫瑰花放在那儿。

　　3。一年过去了，没有他的日子很难过。孤独和寂寞，成了她的命运。然而，在情人节这天，跟以往送花的时间相同，门铃响了，在她的门口放着玫瑰花。她将玫瑰拿进屋，吃惊地看着它们。然后，拨通了花店的电话。她问店主能否向她解释一下，为什么有人要这么做，引起她的痛苦？

　　4。“我知道你的丈夫一年多前去世了，”店主说。“我知道你会打电话来，你想知道是怎么回事。”“今天你收到的花，已经提前付了钱。”“你的丈夫总是提前计划，他做事从来不碰运气。”

　　5。“我的存档里有一个固定的订单，他已经提前付了钱，你每年都会收到玫瑰花。还有另外一件事，我想你应该知道，他写了一张特别的小卡片……他几年前就写好了的。”

　　6。“这样，如果我发现他已不在人世的话，这张卡片……这张卡片将在下一年送给你。”

　　7。她谢了他，挂了电话，眼泪夺眶而出，当她慢慢地伸手去拿卡片时，她的手指在颤抖。
